The GE66 and its more diminutive cousin, the GS66 Stealth, are both revamped for 2020, though they’re not clean-sheet designs. The front edge of the GE66 is anything but subtle, meanwhile. It’s occupied by a giant light bar that runs the entire width of the laptop’s chassis, offering 16.7 million colors that are customizable using the same SteelSeries Engine app that adjusts the per-key lighting on the GE66’s keyboard. Ostentatious, to be sure, but when it’s turned off, the light bar is well integrated enough that you’ll hardly notice it.
Laptops with 14- to 15.6-inch screens are the most popular, because they hit the sweet spot between portability and features that most users find desirable. Yes, they may weigh a few more pounds than their smaller-screen siblings, but in return you get easy reading on a larger screen, more room for various I/O ports, better internal components, and extra battery cells. Things that could make you look at the Note 10 Plus over this phone are the former’s 5G variant, which allows it owner to tap into the super-fast new network connections available in most of Britain’s major cities, its humongous 6.8-inch AMOLED screen, and slightly better camera system, which comes with a Time-of-Flight sensor. It is also cheaper, too, by quite a lot, and delivers 90-95 per cent of the functionality of the bigger phone, so for our money, the Note 10 is the model to choose, and especially so if you live in an area where 5G is not a thing.
The Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701 is the best gaming laptop of 2019 thanks to its powerful components that include a 6-core Intel processor, and the latest RTX 2080 graphics from Nvidia. It’s also one of the best Asus laptops ever made. Not only is this a brilliant performer, but it’s also impressively thin and light as well (by gaming laptop standards). Asus’ Zephyrus laptops have constantly pushed the boundaries of what gaming laptops can do, and this new model for 2019 is no difference, which is why it has made it straight onto our best laptops list.
