As with all crystals used for magical purposes, it is useful, (and some would say imperative), to cleanse and clear them on a regular basis to prevent the build up of ‘unwanted energies’. This is a simple process, but at the very least you may want to keep them physically clean so that they always look their best. Propriety cleaners might be damaging to your stones so always avoid them. Most jewellery will benefit from running under a cold water tap (or if you are a traditionalist – then a mountain stream or mineral water). You can dry them off using a soft ‘lint-free’ cloth or just leave them to dry naturally outside.
Austrian-Irish gemologist Count Edward Charles Richard Taaffe bought a box of cut stones from a jeweler in Dublin in the 1940s, thinking he had purchased a collection of spinels. But on closer inspection, he noted that one of the pale mauve gems was not reacting to the light in the same way as the rest of the spinels, so he sent it off to be analyzed. The results revealed that he had discovered a hitherto unknown gemstone—a serendipitous but frustrating situation, since he had discovered a cut gem and had no idea where the mineral naturally occurred. Fortunately, once the new stone had been announced, many other collectors re-examined their own spinel collections and a number of other samples were uncovered. Finally the source of the stone was tracked down to Sri Lanka, although a handful have also been found in Tanzania and China. It is thought that less than 50 examples of taaffeite exist—many of which are housed in geological and private collections, making this gemstone so rare the ordinary public are unlikely to ever encounter it.
Marbles – Sea Glass marbles are found around the world. Possible sources were children’s toys, ballast for ships, spray paint can marbles and Codd Bottle closures. The most common sea glass marbles are machine made cats eye marbles. The rarest are the handmade marbles called Onionskin or Swirl Core marbles. Ceramic or Clay marbles are also found on beaches around the world.
Jewelry is a gift now, and an heirloom later: There’s nothing better than knowing that a gift is yours and all yours when you first receive it. But after you have tired of it or it has served its purpose, it is truly sad to simply discard it or find it a better home. Jewelry, as we already mentioned, can be worn for decades, but even when not in use can be easily stored due to its small size and passed down to the next generation as a useful and meaningful heirloom. Not to mention, depending on the piece it can retain or even increase in value.
Turquoise and Fourth Chakra: If the fourth or heart chakra is blocked, individuals may experience outbursts of anger, jealousy, or attempting to blame others for any problems. With turquoise in hand, it can connect the lower and higher chakras to achieve equilibrium. It will also increase the sense of empathy for oneself while also enhancing the natural healing abilities. Hence, it will also aid in stimulating the immune response as a whole to function optimally. It keeps the heart and circulatory system healthy as well. When turquoise is situated on the heart chakra, it aids in tissue repair. Read extra information at lucinacrystal.com.
